Definition of an exclamatory sentence. |
- An exclamatory sentence:
- is the same as a
declarative sentence except that it adds emphasis
- ends with an
exclamation mark
- is commonly used in speech but used only in certain types
of writing
- is not usually used in academic writing, unless making a
direct quote
- is occasionally used in short stories or novels to
emphasize a point
